The Naval War College Foundation intends to award one grant of $1,000 to the researcher with the greatest need and can make the optimum use of the research materials for naval history located in the Naval War College’s Archives, Naval Historical Collection, Naval War College Museum, and Henry E. Eccles Library. The recipient will be a Research Fellow in the Naval War College’s Maritime History Department, which will provide administrative support during the research visit. 3) Exhibit Production Manager
The USS Constitution Museum, located in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard, seeks an experienced exhibit professional to join its Exhibit Department staff. Responsibilities include drafting construction plans from design plans, planning construction, supervising, and executing museum exhibition construction. Projects include exhibit prototypes, exhibit elements, and the construction and installation of a 3500 square foot permanent exhibition to be opened in April 2009. The Exhibit Production Manager will report to the Director of Exhibits and will be an active member of the exhibition team, working with out-of-house and in-house designers, an illustrator, a scenic painter and others. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a museum environment and have management experience. A BA/BS degree is preferred. Strong supervisory, leadership, communication, drafting, scheduling, and time management skills are necessary. Experience in finish carpentry and construction drawing production are required; experience in exhibit construction and CAD software are helpful.   The project is expected to last one year.  The Museum offers a competitive salary and a full benefits package.
