MARITIME ARCHAEOLOGIST – 30446

The Maritime Archaeologist is a permanent, full-time position with the Alabama Historical Commission. Positions are located throughout
the state. This is highly technical and professional maritime archaeological work involving the protection, preservation, documentation,
and investigation of submerged archaeological sites belonging to the State of Alabama. Work involves engaging in the identification,
inventory, evaluation, and management of prehistoric and/or historic archaeological sites located in an underwater setting throughout
the state, as well as the curation of data and artifacts associated with these sites.

Salary: $50,253.60 – $84,280.80

Starting salary upon initial appointment to the merit system may be based on various factors.
