Sea War Museum Jutland & Havets Hemmeligheder are looking for a new general manager
Sea War Museum Jutland S / I is looking for a new general manager for our museum universe in Thyborøn.
We are not necessarily looking for a traditional museum profile. On the other hand, we are looking for a person with energy, insight and desire to contribute to developing a very special place, where history, experiences, volunteerism and entrepreneurial spirit meet.
The museums in Thyborøn today include both Sea War Museum Jutland and the new museum center Havets Hemmeligheder with several exhibitions and theme universes under the same roof. Together, we are one of Denmark’s most distinctive maritime museum- and experience environments – created without public operational support and driven by passion, volunteerism and the desire to tell the stories that others often overlook.
About the position:
As general manager, you will be responsible for the daily operation and development of the museums in close cooperation with the director/founder, board of directors, employees and volunteers.
The position spans widely and combines:
• management
• administration
• guest experiences
• coordination
• marketing
• evolution
It is therefore important that you can both keep an overview in everyday life and at the same time think ahead.
Your tasks will include
• Daily operations and coordination of the museums
• Management and planning of employees and volunteers
• Duty and staffing planning
• Contact for guests, partners and groups
• Tours and communication
• Operation and development of museum shop and ticket sales
• Coordination of events and activities
• Updating the website and social media
• Practical administration and financial follow-up
• Contribute to the development of new exhibitions and experiences

Practical
The position is full-time.
Salary is agreed upon according to qualifications and experience.
