NOAA’s Office of Coast Survey are actively recruiting survey technicians and offering training for entry-level positions. This could be a fantastic opportunity to gain field operations experience, learn geophysical survey skills, and network with scientists who produce and consume benthic survey data.
“This is a great opportunity for science majors just graduating from school and there is a $10,000 sign-on bonus to boot. Hydro Survey Division (HSD) said that most science degrees will meet the requirement and that they will be taught how to collect and process data on the ship or boat. NOAA has survey vessels all over the country including the Pacific Islands, Alaska, the East and Gulf Coasts and the Great Lakes.”
