How would you like lecture on the World’s #1 Cruise Line?

Past Preservers has teamed up with Viking Cruises to offer our experts a once in a lifetime opportunity! Ever dreamed of travelling to distant countries with flights & accommodation paid for, itinerary planned, food & drink provided, with an option to bring a companion, in exchange for sharing your knowledge with like-minded travellers?

Past Preservers are proud to announce we are official agents to Viking Ocean Cruises, supplying experts for the enrichment program aboard their stunning ships and we are looking for applicants interested in becoming a Resident Historian or a Guest Speaker. Please note all applicants must have lecturing experience and qualifications within a relevant subject.

Cruises vary from 7-21 days and during a cruise Viking would require Guest Speakers to deliver a minimum of 4 x 45 minute destination related lectures, relevant to the itinerary and ports of call. The Viking Resident Historian would be required to deliver a number of Iconic lectures, provided by Viking, along with several Forum discussion sessions, Office Hours and Bayeux Tapestry stairwell tours.

Please note the Viking Enrichment program is destination focused, only lectures relevant to the ports of call/area the ship is cruising in will be considered and they do not have speakers travelling on board the Viking River Cruises or Expedition ships in the same way as their Ocean ships.

The Enrichment Offer which details the ships, enrichment program and Speaker entitlements be found here. Detailed itineraries of the cruises offered can also be found here: https://www.vikingcruises.co.uk/oceans/cruise-destinations

The role of the Viking Resident Historian is to deliver a program of university-style curriculum lectures, forums and office hours, designed to provide guests with the opportunity to explore major chapters in world history as they relate to the itinerary.

The program supplements Viking’s enrichment activities and is a unique cruise industry initiative, offered only by Viking.

Resident Historians are required to travel onboard for 4-8 weeks at a time. Full requirements can be found here.
