The Department of Archaeology at the University of Southampton seeks to appoint a Full-time Teaching Fellow in Maritime Archaeology. The successful candidate will deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching on our Maritime Archaeology and Archaeology programmes. Duties may include running practical sessions (including diving) in the field or in the classroom as well as lectures, tutorials and student project supervision.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant subject area and proven teaching experience. HSE Scuba or equivalent diving qualification is essential.
An advanced knowledge of the Palaeolithic record of North West Europe is desirable as would be experience of running underwater archaeological projects in the UK, and Dive Master or Diving Instructor Qualifications.
