The National Museum’s vision is to be the world’s most inspiring Naval Museum: inspiring, learning, enjoyment, and engagement with the story of the Royal Navy and its impact in shaping the modern world.
We are recruiting for a full-time Archaeological Data Manager to join our Conservation team, working primarily on HMS Victory, as part of the Museum Operations Directorate.
The Archaeological Data Manager will be joining the team at an exciting stage in the progress of the conservation of HMS Victory, as we embark on a ten-year programme of works to stabilise and preserve the ship.
The work involves management of the 3D model of the ship and of the Victory project archaeological archive. The successful candidate will become an expert on the history of the ship’s fabric and will use their understanding to help inform and develop conservation approaches and strategies relating to the ship and archive.
Team work is a key part of this role to ensure that best-practice is applied to all our work.
