DHR currently has the following  job opening:

Conservation Project Manager (Position 00081): We are seeking to fill one Conservation Project Manager position for a two-year project to focus on the conservation of artifacts from a group of sites associated with the American colonial era plantation of Kingsmill. The selected individual will be self-motivated focusing on the curation, assessment, and treatment of archaeological artifacts from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, the majority of which are inorganic (iron alloy, copper alloy, other metals, ceramics, and glass; to determine the best courses of treatment for artifacts and perform those treatments; to research, recommend, and order supplies required for the treatment; to maintain equipment, work with volunteers and interns who are working in the lab; to supervisor two part-time professional conservators and two part-time professional curation assistants; to perform outreach activities as required by the project (examples include: presenting papers at professional conferences, preparing artifacts for loan, social media about the project, and other activities); to supervise wage staff working on the project; to coordinate with the State Archeological Conservator and the Chief Curator; and to monitor the budget and keep track of staff hours and other funding budget items. The selected individual will work under the supervision of the State Archaeologist. This position is a grant-funded position for two years and will expire when funding is no longer available. See more information.
