The Department of History at the United States Naval Academy is seeking applications for the Class of 1957 Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Naval Heritage for the 2020-2021 academic year. The successful applicants will possess a recent Ph.D. in history and a well-defined on-going research project in naval or Marine Corps history (any era, any field), and be an accomplished classroom instructor. The Class of 57 Post-docs will teach one class per semester of either American Naval History or a topic in the instructor’s field. The fellows will also participate actively in the Department, especially as a resource for other instructors of naval/Marine Corps history.
This is a 12-month, federal excepted service position. The initial contract period is for approximately one year with an option for renewal which is contingent upon on the needs and emerging plans of the Naval Academy. Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
