These two positions with Parks Canada’s Underwater Archaeology Team relate to ongoing underwater archaeological study of the wreck of HMS Erebus from Sir John Franklin’s 1845 expedition in search of a Northwest Passage. The wreck was located by a Parks Canada-led team in 2014. Fieldwork duties will be in Nunavut while office duties will be in Ottawa. Duties will include: archaeological diving, survey, recording, and excavation at the wreck in a remote and cold-water setting; material culture research; database entry and cataloging; researching and writing report contributions; and other work specified in the Statement of Qualifications.
