2016 Flinders University Maritime Archaeology Field School, open for external applications

External applications are now open for the 2016 Flinders University Maritime Archaeology Field School held in Mt Dutton Bay, South Australia, from 29 January-13 February 2016. The website is up, so if you are interested have a look at: http://www.flinders.edu.au/ehl/archaeology/fieldwork/field-schools/maritime-field-school/maritime-field-school_home.cfm.

The Maritime Archaeology Field School provides students and participants with an introduction to the techniques of underwater survey, position fixing, mapping, photography, recording, excavation and conservation.  Some lectures and videos will be provided on the various research methods and techniques used by maritime archaeologists. The Field School includes practical exercises, fieldwork and associated lecture/seminars.

This field school is open to non-Flinders students for the cost of tuition. Credit for the course may be applied to home universities. This is a great opportunity for staff development training for current practicing professionals.
