2014 Flinders University Maritime Archaeology Field School, open for external applications
External applications are now open for the 2014 Flinders University Maritime Archaeology Field School held on Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia, which is scheduled from 2-16 February 2014.
The Maritime Archaeology Field School provides students with an introduction to the techniques of underwater survey, position fixing, mapping, photography, recording, excavation and conservation. Some lectures and videos will be provided on the various research methods and techniques used by maritime archaeologists. The Field School will include practical exercises, field work and associated lecture/seminars.
The course is open to non-Flinders student for the cost of tuition. Credit for the course may be applied to home universities. This is a great opportunity for staff development training for current practicing professionals.
