We have been awarded a grant by The National Lottery Heritage Fund to protect the coastal archaeology of Sandwich Bay, Kent
This £199,060 grant is for Coastal Pasts – Connecting Community with Coastal Heritage at Sandwich Bay project and the money will be used to establish a self-sustaining community group to actively investigate and promote the unique heritage at Sandwich Bay. This is the largest single grant the Nautical Archaeology Society has received in its 50-year history!
A paid part-time project officer has just been employed to support the project and the activities of the community group over three years. We are looking forward to announcing this person soon!
