This is a paid summer internship for up to two early career professionals (graduate school or recent graduate from graduate school) in maritime archeology or a closely related field.
The internship is funded by the Slave Wrecks Project at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and jointly
administered by the National Park Service and Youth Diving with a Purpose (YDWP).
Minorities in the field of underwater archeology are particularly encouraged to apply. Interns will gain experience in underwater archeology, marine field
operations, scientific diving, and history interpretation for the public.
