The Humanities Department at SUNY Maritime College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant, or Associate Professor of History, beginning Fall, 2021 semester. The selected incumbent will teach Maritime History. The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. in History, have substantial experience teaching online, and demonstrated experience teaching and researching in Maritime fields. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise as a Historian, and will be engaged in professional activities. The incumbent will teach in both the MRST and graduate MNST programs. The Assistant Professor of History will help to maintain the College’s traditional commitment to General Education and to Maritime Studies, and will help to continue to grow both our undergraduate and graduate programs. The incumbent will enhance the national appeal of our growing graduate MRST program, and will further enhance the international draw of our MNST program. Successful candidate will demonstrate mastery of online course delivery methods and to facilitating access to digital texts at all levels of the curriculum.
