Assistant Receiver of Wreck

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) are looking for an Assistant Receiver of Wreck to support the administration processes relating to matters of wreck and salvage throughout the UK.

You will assist the Receiver and Deputy Receiver of Wreck in the administration of those sections of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 that relate to wreck and salvage, the Protection of Wrecks Act 1973 and the Royal Prerogative for Fishes Royal.

This is an exciting role where you will process reports of wreck, in the interest of both the finder and the owner. In this highly diverse role no two days are the same which will give you variety to your working day.

The role also involves education and outreach, representing and highlighting the requirements of wreck and salvage law in a variety of public fora, including attending conferences and other events.
