While in residence, the successful applicant will be able to take advantage of a limited research budget, the ANAMED seminar and study rooms, library resources within the Koç University system, and access to nearby research centers such as the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut, the Institut Français d’Études Anatoliennes, and the Instituto Italiano di Cultura. Applications from scholars of all nationalities are encouraged, but fellows must be proficient in English, the language of instruction at Koç University.

Established in honor of Mustafa V. Koç, the Koç University Maritime Archeology Research Center (KUDAR) supports and promotes Turkish and international scholars conducting high-impact research on maritime archeology, history, ethnography, heritage management, artifact conservation, and other practices concerned with the relationship between society and the sea.  The center prioritizes research in the Social Sciences, primarily Archeology, but also Anthropology, Human Geography, and similar disciplines. The center may also encompass efforts that include the applied and natural sciences, such as Oceanography or Marine Biology, provided such research generates high-impact results that contribute to the center’s overall focus.
