Each Discovery Programme will form an essential plank of England’s only community-led response to the irreversible damage being done to our coastal heritage by the forces of climate change and erosion.
Each project officer will deliver key project activities in their assigned Discovery Programme area including recruiting and training new volunteers to monitor intertidal archaeology, engaging diverse communities, and working with the higher education sector, in line with our HLF activity plan. Project Officers will work closely together within and across regions in order to share best practice and support each other’s work. They will also jointly line-manage one of three new Senior Community Archaeologists who will be appointed to the project in April. The team will be supported by the CITIZAN Project Manager and Project leader as well as being able to draw on wider MOLA resources and expertise as required.
