Archaeology Field School hosted by Lake Champlain Maritime Museum offers a mix of both instruction and hands-on underwater research. The 2018 Field School will continue to investigate and document an unidentified shipwreck in Basin Harbor, Vermont.
The diving sessions will teach practical underwater skills using both traditional documentation techniques and cutting-edge technology on an historic shipwreck.
Through additional academic lectures and labs, participants will study legal practices, learn about local history, and participate in artifact conservation. Students should have completed Basic Open Water SCUBA as a prerequisite for this course.
