The Faculty of Arts ( of the University of Helsinki is Finland’s oldest institution for teaching and research in the humanities and the largest in terms of the structure and range of disciplines. The Department of Philosophy, History, Culture and Art Studies (…) brings together the long traditions of the oldest of the university’s disciplines and new, rising subjects. The multidisciplinarity of the humanities forms the basis for the research and teaching provided by the department. The department has over 1500 major degree students.
