A position in the Underwater Archaeology branch at the Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC) will be advertised in the next few days. I hope that you can help us develop a good pool of candidate underwater archaeologists by sharing this with your networks.
The advertisement will be for a GS-0193-12 ($60,274-78,355 without locality pay, $74,872-97,333 with locality pay) position located at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Unfortunately, relocation expenses will not be paid. The candidate pool is all US citizens. The primary duties of this position involve management of NHHC’s Archaeology & Conservation Laboratory, responsibility for conservation and curation of the Branch’s archaeological collections, leading or supporting maritime archaeological research, contributing to the development of historic preservation policy, and undertaking educational outreach initiatives.
