1) Archivist, Naval History and Heritage Command, closes September 19.  This position is located in the Archives Branch, Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC), Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC.

2) Executive Director, Maritime Gloucester
Established in 1999, Maritime Gloucester (formerly Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center) is a leading provider on the North Shore of Massachusetts of hands-on education in marine science, technology, engineering, and math for students from elementary school through high school.  Maritime Gloucester is a major visitor attraction that houses an aquarium, exhibits related to local habitats and Gloucester’s fishing and marine industrial history.  Maritime Gloucester seeks an Executive Director who serves as chief executive officer of Maritime Gloucester and reports directly to the Board of Directors. The ED provides management of fund-raising, oversight of programs, administration and operations, marketing, financial affairs, facilities, Board relations, and external relations, including with strategic partners, educational institutions, the marine trades, local and regional communities. Qualifications:  Maritime Gloucester seeks an entrepreneurial and visionary leader to build upon the organization’s reputation and to lead it at a time of tremendous opportunity and great momentum.  In addition to having demonstrated success in organizational leadership and fund-raising, candidates should demonstrate a passion for Maritime Gloucester’s mission and core values.   Qualified individuals will possess excellent oral and written communications skills, and have demonstrated the ability to create and map a strategic vision, set and achieve realistic goals, motivate staff, multitask, and build strong relationships with board of directors and external partners, including public officials and grant makers. Candidates should highlight familiarity with marine science education and knowledge of maritime and waterfront operations. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
