The Underwater Archaeology Unit (UAU) of Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht (DAHG) is compiling an Inventory of all shipwrecks recorded in Irish Waters. The UAU currently has a wreck database containing approximately 10,000 wreck records which is held in an MS Access database. The format of this database has recently been redesigned and therefore a certain level of data formatting and standardisation is required in order to facilitate efficient use of the database. DAHG now invites tenders to carry out a block of work updating and editing the Shipwreck Inventory database. The successful tenderer will need to be in a position to begin work on this project from 19th September 2011 and it is envisaged that the contract shall be completed by 6 April 2012.
