Minnesota Marine Art Museum 9/5/08
The Minnesota Marine Art Museum seeks an Executive Director to provide administrative, intellectual, and programmatic leadership for the planning, management and growth of the Museum. The Executive Director proactively engages and communicates with our many member, volunteer, donor and public constituencies; works closely with the Museum board of directors; plans and manages the business and financial affairs of the Museum and coordinates the work of staff and committees. This is a full-time position.
The applicant must possess a strong record of experience and achievement in the field of business and financial management; a record of experience in art museum and/or non-profit operations and marketing; and the ability to inspire and lead staff, volunteers and directors. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, management, and administrative skills, as well as strong interpersonal, communication, team-building, negotiation and problem solving skills. The Museum, founded in 2005, is a nonprofit museum and educational institution working to preserve and present its art holdings, largely original oil paintings, regional folk art sculpture and historic Upper Mississippi photographic prints and traveling art exhibits. The museum is complemented by its setting on a commercial harbor on the Mississippi River. The museum’s website contains additional information about the museum and the area community.
