This is to inform you of graduate studies in maritime archaeology available in 2008 in Perth, Western Australia. The courses are Graduate Certificate in Applied Maritime Archaeology, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Maritime Archaeology, and Masters in Applied Maritime Archaeology. These involve Archaeology (University of Western Australia) and the Department of Maritime Archaeology (Western Australian Museum).

UNITS AND PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
The Certificate of Applied Maritime Archaeology (24 points of study) is offered in an intensive fashion over 6 weeks in the middle of 2008 (June—July).  The course requires completion of these four 6-point units.
ARCY8403        Maritime Archaeology Artefact Studies
ARCY8404        Maritime Archaeology Techniques       
ARCY8407        Surveying Maritime Sites                      
ARCY8408        Maritime Archaeology Field Project            

The Diploma of Applied Maritime Archaeology (48 points of study) requires completion of eight 6-point units comprising the four units listed above in addition to those below, which are taught in semester 2, 2008 (July ˆ November).

ARCY8402        Maritime Archaeology in Context        
ARCY8405        Interpreting Maritime Archaeology       
ARCY8406        Cultural Heritage in Maritime Archaeology      

The Master of Applied Maritime Archaeology includes the above 8 units plus an additional semester completing ARCY8501 Dissertation (Applied Maritime Archaeology).

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should have a three-year bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or related discipline. If applicants are to dive then qualifications are required. International students with suitable qualifications are eligible for admission into the program.

Given the limited space for students. Enrollments close 8 January 2008.
