Volunteer Coordinator Responsible for the coordination of volunteer activities of the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum, Inc. (SAL&M) and Lighthouse Maritime Archaeological Program(LAMP). Plans and evaluates volunteer activities.

Recruits volunteers and maintains a roster of all volunteers. Schedules and assigns volunteers for various SAL&M and LAMP responsibilities and positions. Baccalaureate degree in business or human resources preferred. Must have knowledge of the conduct of volunteer program in a non-profit organization. Outstanding interpersonal skills and managerial skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines. Must be able to climb the lighthouse tower.

Dive Safety Officer, National Park Service

This position will be located at the Intermountain Regional Office, with a duty station of Lakewood, Colorado. The selectee is the Dive Safety Officer for the National Park Service’s scuba diving program. Under the direction of the Dive Program Manager, in conjunction with the NPS National Dive Control Board (NDCB), the incumbent plans and implements multiple aspects of the dive safety program  The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the safety and training needs of scuba divers throughout the National Park System.  The National Park Service has the oldest non-military diving program in the federal government and NPS divers work in a wide range of conditions and environments to accomplish the NPS preservation mission.

2) Program and Marine Operations Manager for the 38th Voyage of the whaleship Charles W. Morgan.

This position will be responsible for the educational programs and logistics surrounding the project. The Charles W. Morgan, a National Historic Landmark, is currently under restoration. In the summer of 2013, at the conclusion of the restoration, she will sail on a six-week journey in Southern New England waters. The Program and Marine Operations Manager position includes museum programming and marine logistics at Mystic Seaport and in the designated ports of the voyage. This person will work with all departments of the Museum and coordinate the planning and execution of strategies to insure that the 38th Voyage meets the Museum’s strategic and physical goals, and that all regulatory issues are observed. The initial 12-18 months of the position will focus on education and planning activities, and become increasingly focused on the logistics of the voyage as the project progresses. During the sail, this person will serve as the land-based coordinator of all logistics related to the project. They will be at each port in advance of the vessel, and stay throughout the related activities in each port. During the voyage, S/he will be on call 24/7 and expected to be ready to solve any issues that arise.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated skill in complex ,detail-oriented project management, coordinating the efforts and needs of various stakeholders. S/he will have experience working with a wide range of individuals with diverse skills, in managing a multi-faceted project budget and be able to respond quickly to solve problems and make decisions related to the port visits. Ability to operate small power craft required, preferred experience includes Coast Guard license, sail training experience aboard large traditional sailing vessels and familiarity with the ports and surrounding towns of the voyage: New London, Newport, New Bedford, Cape Cod Canal, Provincetown, Stellwagen Bank.

This position is part time (20-24 hours/week) for the first 12 months, with the intention of expanding to full time in summer of 2011.  The incumbent serves as an archaeologist and is responsible for preparing, implementing, and leading underwater archaeological investigation activities in accordance with the standard operating procedures of the JPAC-CIL. 

Supervises military dive teams engaged in the Phase I Survey and Phase II Testing and Evaluation of submerged aircraft crash sites, shipwrecks, and other underwater contexts believed to be associated with unaccounted-for Americans.

Museum Specialist, Hampton Roads Naval Museum

This position is located within the Hampton Roads Naval Museum (HRNM), Naval History and Heritage Commands (NHHC).  The incumbent serves as the Educator/Special Programs Coordinator for the Hampton Roads Naval Museum (HRNM) and the Wisconsin battleship.  Serves as a point of contact to all school districts and coordinators regarding HRNM’s field trips and staff site visits.  Develops lesson plans and coordinates programs in the Life at Sea gallery, the Wisconsin education room, other on-site locations in Nauticus, and off-site at a variety of venues.  Works directly with military education groups (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC)).  Manages HRNM’s Family Fun program.  Participates fully in teacher workshops and internships, conducting sessions and serving as a mentor to interns.  As Special Programs Coordinator, plans all aspects of luncheon lecture series and volunteer functions from catering through reservations.  Maintains museum’s master calendar and prepares a variety of institutional reports from same.
