Cecelia Connelly Memorial Scholarship for Underwater Archaeology

Applications are due November 15.

http://www.wdhof.org/scholarships/scholarships.shtml

I  am writing to inform you about a scholarship your department may be interested in. The Women Divers Hall of Fame Cecelia Connelly Memorial Scholarship for Underwater Archaeology was named after my mother. She had a deep and abiding fascination with history, archaeology and the ocean. She had been a diving instructor of some repute and had been inducted into the Women Divers Hall of Fame in 2000.When she died of cancer in 2003, my family set up this scholarship within the Women Divers Hall of Fame, as she had been a very proud member of the organization.

The scholarship is for $2500, to be used to support a woman graduate or undergraduate student, currently enrolled and in good standing, in an accredited academic program in Underwater Archaeology. If you are aware of a female student, or students, in your field who might be interested in applying for this scholarship, I hope you would feel free to pass this information on to them. I have included the web site, which includes not only the process for applying for the Cecelia Connelly scholarship, but also the complete list of scholarships available through the Women Divers Hall of Fame.

The website is www.wdhof.org/index2.shtml and all applications are due November 15, 2008. If you or anyone you know has any questions I can answer, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you in advance for your help in sharing this information with deserving individuals.
