The MDMR is seeking bids from qualified and experienced contractors to provide site-specific surveys conducted to identify historic properties that may be impacted by offshore artificial reef construction activities. The surveys will fulfill obligations under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) (36 CFR part 800) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
The scope of work for the contract will include, but is not limited to, the following:
One marine archaeological resources assessment report, which includes efforts in federal waters. The area surveyed for archaeological identification purposes should be large enough to cover any portion of the project area affected by the activities proposed, including all seafloor-disturbing activities, whether temporary or permanent. The Vendor should prepare the Report in a manner that satisfies a Section 106 review.
