2) The Alan Pearsall Fellowship in Naval and Maritime History
The Alan Pearsall Bequest and the Institute of Historical Research will offer a one-year postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Naval and Maritime History, tenable at the Institute. The Fellowship stipend will be £22,000 for a full academic year. It will be payable in four quarterly instalments through the Institute. The closing date for applications is 15 April 2009.

3) Executive Director
The Antique Boat Museum, the largest freshwater nautical Museum in the world, requires a full-time Executive Director by the fall of 2009 to replace our retiring Director. The new Executive Director will oversee a dynamic institution with an attainable five year strategic plan, a talented and committed staff of 40 full-time and part-time employees, an operating budget of approximately $1.6 million, a 4.5 acre river campus with five new exhibit buildings and an extraordinary collection of over 270 antique boats. The successful candidate must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and must have demonstrated success in raising funds, building partnerships, and financial management. Interviews will be scheduled for April and May, the appointment will be made by mid-June, with the expectation that the new Director will start by the fall of 2009 to allow for a three month transition.  More information about the Museum is available at www.abm.org.
