Executive Director – New Hampshire Boat Museum seeks dynamic leader to advance Museum through successful fund-raising and development and to oversee day-to-day operations. Museum is located in Wolfeboro, NH. Museum outreach programs include Youth, Family & Women’s Boat Building, Community Sailing, Lecture Series, Boat Auction, Antique Boathouse Tour, Boat Show and biennial Vintage Raceboat Regatta. Hands-on Board, part-time staff and over 150 active volunteers support activities. Executive Director will report to Board’s Vice-Chairman, and be an integral part of local community. Ideal candidate will have proven track record managing and growing the funding base of a non-profit, skills in marketing, strategic planning, human resources management, financial management, educational programming and museum management. College degree with emphasis in Museum Management, and/or 6+ years of senior development experience for a non-profit is desired. This is challenging position for creative person who wants to direct an expanding museum involved in historic preservation, artifact acquisition, and community outreach. 4) Writing Internship
The USS Constitution Museum is seeking a volunteer or intern interested in carrying out a large-scale writing project in the fall and/or spring of 2008-2009. Using information compiled by Museum researchers, the applicant will craft succinct and engaging biographical profiles of sailors who served on board USS Constitution during the War of 1812. Applicants should have strong writing skills and some familiarity with military or naval history. Knowledge of Microsoft Access is beneficial but not necessary. Schedule is flexible; may be done for credit (at the discretion of the intern’s educational institution); this internship is unpaid.
