In connection with the building of a new Maritime Museum, which will be part of a lager cultural regeneration project of the old ship yard in Elsinore, a new conservation post has been created at the Danish Maritime Museum.

We are looking for a person with recognised qualifications in object conservation. Understanding and experience of a wide range of materials is expected. You must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team, so enthusiasm and good interpersonal skills is a must.

The main responsibilities will be condition assessment and conservation of objects for the displays in the new museum, documentation and condition reports of newly required objects.

You will refer to the Preventive Conservator, whom you will be assisting in the packing and moving of objects between the old and new museum and the stores. There will also be tasks related to registration and loans and other general conservation activities.

We offer an exciting full time position at Kronborg Castle with the possibility of influencing the work and developing new skills. This is a unique chance of taking part in the creation of a brand new museum in an untraditional environment. With a workforce of currently 12 full time staff, we are striving towards becoming one of Denmark’s leading cultural history museums.
