The USS Constitution Museum, located in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard, seeks an experienced exhibit professional to join its Exhibit Department staff. Responsibilities include drafting construction plans from design plans, planning construction, supervising, and executing museum exhibition construction. Projects include exhibit prototypes, exhibit elements, and the construction and installation of a 3500 square foot permanent exhibition to be opened in April 2009. The Exhibit Production Manager will report to the Director of Exhibits and will be an active member of the exhibition team, working with out-of-house and in-house designers, an illustrator, a scenic painter and others. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a museum environment and have management experience. A BA/BS degree is preferred. Strong supervisory, leadership, communication, drafting, scheduling, and time management skills are necessary. Experience in finish carpentry and construction drawing production are required; experience in exhibit construction and CAD software are helpful.   The project is expected to last one year.  The Museum offers a competitive salary and a full benefits package. 1) Hydrographic Surveyor:

Gahagan & Bryant Associates, Inc.  (GBA) has an immediate opening available at our Baltimore, MD Office for a Hydrographic Surveyor.

Requirements: Skills required include knowledge of hydrographic data collection and processing techniques, as addressed in the Corps of Engineers Hydrographic Survey Manual for inland and near shore hydrographic surveys.  The successful candidate shall have demonstrated experience with GPS in all modes, single beam and multi-beam survey techniques, electronic data collection and editing of field data and compiling data into final deliverable products for our clients.

Job Description: The incumbent shall serve as a Hydrographic Surveyor conducting surveys in harbors, rivers, navigable channels and beaches throughout the Untied States. These surveys shall also include establishing survey control and performing topographic surveys in support of hydrographic surveying activities.  Overnight travel is required.

Extensive experience in hydrographic surveying is preferred, but at our discretion, we will train the right candidate for this position.

Salary commensurate with experience and education.

Call for Papers AIMA/AHSA/AAMH Conference September 2008, Adelaide, South Australia

The conference organising committee is now inviting proposals for papers and posters. A list of session abstracts are now on the conference website and can be accessed at:

Please use the online form to submit paper and poster proposals. Paper and poster proposals should be no more than 150 words. Papers will be either 15 or 20 minutes long depending on the number of papers proposed. The deadline for paper and poster proposals is 31 July 2008.
